All priests and deacons in the Diocese of Stockton are required to request an Affidavit of Suitability for Priestly Ministry, also known as a Testimonial of Suitability or Letter of Good Standing, from the Office for Priests for any ministry that is done outside of the Diocese of Stockton. Visiting priests and deacons must also provide an Affidavit for Priestly Ministry when visiting the Diocese of Stockton and wish to exercise pastoral ministry. We adhere to Canon Law and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' requirement for an Affidavit of Priestly Ministry from all clergy. Requests cannot be guaranteed unless they are submitted at least 30 days prior to the event date.
